Enfant terrible
Centrally located in Kreis 3, the bar is secluded and tranquil. Positioned as a hidden gem away from immediate competition with other bars, it seamlessly blends into the surroundings. The special design of the cube, with a cut-out corner in the building facade, adds an intriguing dynamic to the space.
The shop window is not an ordinary display but an architecturally captivating bar concept. It is built into a generous opening in a multi-story building. A portion has been cut out on the ground floor, revealing some structural pillars.
The bar area itself is designed as a glass cube seamlessly integrated into a section of this opening. Thanks to its complete glass structure and slight recess, it appears unobtrusive at first glance, almost imperceptible. This subtlety is its significant quality: the interior space almost perfectly merges with the exterior. When people sit at tables both outside and inside, the transition is blurred, and one can barely discern that there is a separate bar area.
This creates a unique atmosphere where the entire bar, both the interior and exterior spaces, functions as a cohesive whole. The place becomes a meeting point where the boundaries between inside and outside dissolve. The bar serves not only as a showcase for the people inside but also as a place for socializing and relaxation, where inside and outside harmoniously unite.
The building was bought by an investor and the bar has to close in 2024. So in this sense – Thank you Gentrification!
