Zerda Gold
Zerda Gold is located on the ground floor attached upfront to a 6-floor housing complex. The shop is situated on a wide sidewalk of the elongated street Winterthurerstrasse, disguising the threshold between the boutique and sidewalk. Although public spaces are present within the area, there’s a lack of possible seating within 500m of the store. Its neighborhood is lively, surrounded by cafés and many other shops, such as a hairdresser to the right and a supermarket further down the street.
The jewelry outlet is attached to a larger facade, however, remains easily accessible for pedestrians making sure to catch their attention. There’s a canopy located within the space to keep individuals protected from potential weather changes. The urban element thereby achieves a feeling of exclusivity.
The shop window is used as an extension of the store’s brand. The large windows display jewelry collections allowing the store to invite the customers inside. Information about the used materials and craftmanship of the jeweler is also shown beneath the windows in bold writing. The interior of Zerda gold measures around 25 square meters.
The materiality of the boutique is not particularly unique, it primarily serves the purpose of displaying products. Whereas the overall color pallet varies in between neutral colors, the Zerda Gold Logo is in gold. The transparency of the windows allows a straightforward view into the shop. Moreover, the windows and exterior walls are covered in adhesive labels. Like the window frames, the lighting choice remains simple, highlighting functionality over decoration.
