Kafischnaps
The shop windows of “Kafischnaps” are located at a lively intersection of Rotbuchstrasse and Kornhausstrasse in Zurich’s 10 district.
The surrounding area on the side streets is quieter with many apartments and playgrounds. The small stores and residential buildings on this street give this district its unique charm. The shop windows of the café take up almost the entire façade of the first floor. The northern façade, with the entrance and outdoor area, is located 1 meter below the sidewalk.
The entrance door is surrounded by shop windows and garden furniture and looks inviting with a colorful canopy. The bright cornice above the shop window separates the upper floors from the café.
The interior is well lit with sunlight from the large shop windows around the entire café, creating a calm atmosphere with the cushions on the windowsills.
Inside, the window frames and the windowsills are made of black plastic, surrounded by white ceramic tiles on the floor and walls. On the outside, the rectangular white plastic window frames of the shop windows stand out against the dark gray façade and the black plinth area. All shop windows are closed and transparent.
The shop windows bring plenty of sunlight into the interior and invite commuters into the café.
