Hegibachstrasse 42

Intwine

The shop window belongs to a shop at a crossroads on the western edge of Kreis 7. At this intersection of Hegibachstrasse and Freiestrasse, there is the Freiestrasse school building and a bus stop where lines 31 and 33 run along Hegibachstrasse. Otherwise, the area is characterized by older and more modern apartment buildings and smaller businesses, which are mostly integrated into residential buildings.

The shop window extends around the entire corner of the building, which faces the junction. Two glass doors are integrated into the shop window. One serves as the entrance to the shop, while the other, without latches, is simply a shop window. Access to the flats above the shop is provided by a separate door next to the shop window on the left. The cantilevered facade above and the terrace projecting to the side provide protection from the weather. Several materials were used for this shop window. The base and the columns are made of coarse light grey concrete. Around the golden brass window frames is a green lacquered metallic surface.

Almost all the shop’s rooms can be seen through the huge window front. The shop is a gift shop called Intwine. Products such as candles, soap, crockery and bags can be purchased. The transparent entrance door is moved 75 cm behind the front with windows to the left and right. That gives you the feeling of being in the shop before you even enter.
