Bahnhofstrasse 39

Project by Andrea Alexieva

Gucci

The „Gucci” shop is located at Bahnhofstrasse 39. This is the main shopping street in the center of Zürich and thousands of people pass through it every day.

The shop’s front façade is on this particular street, but it continues back along Münzhof, where all its the shopwindows are located. Therefor the elongated shape of the shop is created.

The main entrance on Bahnhofstrasse is at street level and the one on Münzhof is separated by 1 step from the ground. The façade has an overall minimalistic design and a massive structure, with sandstone columns separating the shopwindows. The façade is enriched by the terrace above the shop, which features landscaping.

A lot of the shop interior is visible because of the large windows, so it can be said that both the outside and inside are quite open towards each other. The big windows bring light to the inside, creating a more bright and lively atmosphere in the interior of the shop. The large square shopwindows have gilded metal frames. They are not designed to be opened, which adds to the sense of exclusivity of the products on display. They are fully transparent, which allows them to represent the goods in the most detailed way.

There are a lot of products on display, because they are arranged along almost the entire height and width of the windows. There are bags, clothes and suitcases, proving the rich assortment of the store.
