The entrance is part of a sequence of entrances along the facade of an apartment block. The apartment block is located along a busy street with lots of cars and trams. The entrance is set back from the sidewalk. A small square is formed in front of it with two private gardens on the sides. The change between the sidewalk and the entrance area is indicated by a change of the material of the pavement. Large stone slabs characterize the square. There are mailboxes on both sides in the front of the entrance zone.
It is an entrance with two doors. The two doors are not just next to each other: they are separated by a height difference. While one entrance can be entered at ground level, the other requires climbing two flights of stairs. The entrance on the ground level is a large glass door, which looks even larger due to a glass window of the same size next to it. The entrance raised from the floor has only a one-sided glass door. Due to the level difference and the different opening sizes both en- trances get an individual character.
The entrances are framed by a grey plastered masonry and a large canopy protects both sides of the entrance from the weather. The surfaces around the glass doors are made of aluminum, which reflects in the light and thus attracts the eye of the viewer. Behind the glazing of the doors, you get a glimpse of the interior: long corridors with entrances to the apartments extend into the depths of the building.
