Steinstrasse 58

Project by Inthujan Santhiralingam

This entrance of the apartment block is located in the neigh- borhood of Wiedikon. A few meters away, there is the main street and the first stores. In the street there are many similar buildings, which differ mainly in design, but are very similar in structure. In terms of color, my building stands out a bit more due to its bright yellow pastel color.

The entrance to the apartment block is on the street level. Just like the building, the entrance is symmetrical according to the building. From the entrance in front of the building, through the windows, you can see that above the entrance door there is a staircase leading to the apartments. All floors except the first floor are built in the same way. The only difference is that while on the ground floor there is no balcony, the floors above all have a small balcony.

At the entrance there is a small wall that defines the border of the sidewalk and the building. In the middle there is the en- trance, where this small wall is rounded.

Before you get to the door you are confronted by the mail- boxes, which are on the left and right of the entrance. This small place in front of the entrance door is roofed and equipped with a lamp. Passing the mailboxes, you get to the entrance door. The door is a modern swing door made of glass, which is framed. There is no door handle, but a pull handle to open the door. The door can only be opened by key or bell. But before entering the building, you can also go to the right side in front of the entrance door, where there is a small leafy area, or to the left side, where there is a parking place for bicycles.

Not only the building is inviting and family friendly, so is the entrance.
