The entrance is located at the Nordstrasse, protected from the noise of the main street by the opposite buildings. This entrance is peculiar due to its predominance on the building and its height. Its transparency lets the light enter in the entire staircase and creates the illusion that it is more spacious than it actually is. Nevertheless, this transparency reduces the intimacy of the inhabitants who go through the staircase. The central facade, which is totally glazed, embodies the modern face of the building while the rest of the building remains more traditional.
The entrance is built in such a way that it is an essential part to assemble the left side and the right side of the edifice. It is like a building itself, whose function is to create a passage to go from one side to the other.
At each floor the transparent staircase extrudes itself from the building to create a three dimensional facade. It ends up at the top of the edifice, but still creating this space-illusion, with a transparent roof, which allows a large view on the sky and offers a light well. Back to the ground floor, the transparency of the entrance continues on the right and, as a showcase, reveals the inside of the building. Finally, two columns carry the advancement of the facade and integrate the letterboxes.
