Mainaustrasse 30

Project by Kristian Gashi

The entrance is located on a small one-way street. The street has little traffic and leads to the entrance being relatively private. This privacy is also reinforced by various features of the entrance.

The entrance door is situated several meters away from the street. It is positioned within the volume of the building and is therefore also covered. In addition, the entrance has four steps. So a transition is created between the public street and the private entrance.

Once one has entered the private entrance, one finds him/ herself in a publicly used building. This form of entrance makes the visitor feel comfortable and sheltered when entering the public building. The public use of the building is further emphasized by the automatic sliding doors. The facade with its numerous large windows is also suggestive of the public use.

The facade is dark green and white. The two colors alternate from bottom to top, while the windows were only set in the dark green stripes. To the right of the entrance, the facade is offset and covers a small part of the pedestrian path. This part of the facade has larger windows and has the color white only. Solely the window frames are colored in dark green.
