Glattstegweg 95

Project by Ayse Kunduru

This entrance is located at a crossroad between heavy and light traffic roads. This simple building stands next to a richly ornamented church.

The house is built with white bricks and shows a minimalistic façade. The façade is separated into two parts of which one is smaller than the other. The entrance to the building would supposedly be on the large, open façade. However, it sits on the smaller part the building. It is made from green metal and shielded by a glass canopy. The entrance is accompanied by a small window at a higher position than usual windows. The larger part of the building holds two big windows in the middle of the façade which are framed by two large steel sheet elements. This dominant part of the facade makes the entrance less noticeable.

There is a hierarchal disposition between the two parts of the façade of which one is smaller and offers the entrance whereas the other one is more prominent with a greater window area.
