The entrance I chose caught my eye within seconds, because in comparison to the other houses it appeared really dark, although it is a residential building. On the one hand, as the only black building in the street, it is very noticeable, on the other hand it is so dark that it almost disappears.
The whole house is covered in mosaic-like squares, altering from dark grey to black with a greenish touch. The windows and doors are made of steel and match the facade with their black color. In contrast there are some wooden oak elements, which give the building its warmth and comfort.
Even though the foyer, leading to the entrance, is part of the building it is still in the open, thus there is no door separating it from the streets. For example this is indicated by the seamless transition in the floors, the streets’ concrete flows flawlessly into the foyer, thus showing no change of materialization. Its double hight ceiling and the inclusion in the volume of the building gives the entrance a welcoming and privat character.
