Dufourstrasse 119

Project by Tobias Gasser

The entrance to Dufourstrasse 119 is located on a somewhat busy street. A stone walkway lined with bushes and greenery separates the building from the sidewalk. Dufourstrasse 119 serves a dual purpose. It is used as an office building, and houses apartments. The inhabitants and commuters have lined the sides of this path with their bicycles. On the left side of the walkway there is a sign listing the local companies as well as the complete address.

The actual door is indented into the wall, creating a canopy. There is a slight step that separates this indentation from the walkway, and it is lit from above by three downwards facing lights. The left wall is used to display the multitude of doorbells. A grating is placed at the very front to keep the inside as clean as possible.

The door is made of glass for the most part but is framed by red and gold lines. Above the double doors the number 119 is written in gold lettering. Behind the door there are mailboxes on both sides. A stairway leads upwards, towards the building’s main stairwell.
