The urban entrance is the entrance to a small garage with multiple accesses, which have different uses. Besides the two garage doors for vehicles, there is a separate door only for people. The three accesses are made of sheet metal and have darkened windows. Above is a tall apartment block.
The building is made of concrete, the supports are made of metal and the floor is asphalted like the road. The roofing through the apartment block creates a forecourt in front of the entrance. On the forecourt there are many stacked car tires, manhole covers, water shafts and tools. There are also many traces of work, such as dirt and wear. The thin round supports consume a minimum of space and the large rectangular gates allow effortless passage.
The urban entrance is located besides a busy street and belongs to an adjacent tire store. Due to the asphalt floor, the road practically reaches the entrance. There is also a small gas station nearby.
The forecourt under the roof is used for storage and work. The garage is more precisely a car workshop. The accesses are the border between the inside and the outside. The opening of the doors allows a smooth transition and an extension of the workplace to the outside. The roofing limits the forecourt and creates an invisible boundary between the working area and the public space. The doors are the definitive and final boundary between work and public.
