This entrance is located at the back of a half-timbered house. The door is facing a small urban park which is framed by two streets and has a lawn with benches on one side. Furthermore a paved access is between the house and the park.
The pale green door is constructed with diagonal wood- planks. Handcrafted metal details give the door a valuable look. In addition to many round-headed nails, the door knob and knocker with floral shapes are particularly remarkable. Like the windows the entrance is also framed with sandstone.
The building is a private school and is therefore visited by numerous people every day. Thus, a modern canopy was built with the name of the school on it. It signals that the door is in use and even serves as an invitation. Furthermore small details such as an ashtray or a doorbell give clues that it is not just a back entrance.
It is interesting to see how a traditional house contrasts with a modern canopy and how it can change the perception of an entrance.
