The entrance is located in district 4 right on the border to district 3, on Badenerstrasse, just between Zürich Lochergut and Albisriederplatz. It’s an entrance to a massive old construc- tion building with lots of character.
There is a long, narrow flowerbed separating private and public resp. the building and the walkway/street. The integrated stone flowerbed is greened with bushes and serves partly as a noise barrier. Three steps lead up from the public walkway to the front door. There is a stair railing made of steel for support.
The door is in a warm and light wood tone and has six small, dark windows. Each window has a decorative steel grid in a star shape at its front. Besides being a decorative item, the grids offer protection to the windows. Hanging on the door is a small, blue traditional house-number plaque for orientation. On both sides of the entrance there is a small window each.
Framing the wooden door is an impressive light grey sandstone edging, almost resembling two columns, which are placed curving outwards and thereby broaden the entrance.
Spanning over the two ‘columns’ is an ornamentally deco- rated sandstone ledging above the door which offers support to the overlying balcony from below. Attached to the balcony is a decorative steel railing.
Besides this entrance the building has two further similar private entrances and one for commercial purposes, directed to Badenerstrasse and three addressed to the adjacent streets.
