The corner that is created at the point where Talstrasse and Dreikönigstrasse (which at this point changes into the Börsenstrasse) meet is actually not a real corner at all. Because the building volume at this point is round, a huge 5-storey column rises up instead of a right-angled street corner. In this sense, the high ground floor stands for the base, the 1st to 3rd floors for the shaft and the 4th floor for the capital. The image of the column is supported by different colors and decorations on the facades of the respective floors. Because of the association with a column, the street corner also receives the symbols of a column such as stability, security and elegance.
It is also interesting that the round part of the corner gets a certain importance by the striking coloring and the ornate decoration. Especially the relief columns stand out, which were placed one above the other on the ground floor and on the 1st and 2nd floors. Furthermore, this round part is slightly offset inwards in relation to the facades to the left and right of it. This conveys the feeling that this corner invites you to enter the restaurant that is located in it.
The facades next to the column are very simple in comparison. Both sides are designed very similarly, but on closer inspection you can see that they differ despite the great similarity. The ground floor is also high here. On the right facade there are huge windows that extend over the whole height of the it. On the left facade there are also very large windows, but they stop in half of the facade, just above the head of a person. The biggest difference of the floors above is that the left facade is covered with shutters and the left one is not. Furthermore, the balconies are not symmetrically placed either.
