Seefeldstrasse / Kreuzstrasse

Project by Ronja Traber

The selected street corner is in Kreis 8 in Zürich. The ground floor is used as a pharmacy. The building has a cut corner that faces an intersection. The walls on the ground floor consist of gray-teal colored stone columns that are not monolithic and there are wide, gold framed glass panes in between, which serve as shop windows for the pharmacy. All the window frames are made of brass. The glass panes do not reach the floor, instead there are notches and the pavement goes underneath the windows. The columns have small, gold framed windows with illuminated pharmacy signs inside. There is a protrusion made from golden plates right where the ground floor is connected to the first floor, which serves as a canopy for the sidewalk. In the wall facing the intersection, there is a recessed sliding glass door with a silver metal frame. A sign spelling “APOTHEKE” is on the canopy right above where the door is. The windows on the upper floors are framed with wood painted in teal and have a sand colored stone frame and a bar in the front (facing the street). There is an oriel facing the intersection made from sandstone. The walls on the upper floors are beige and plastered.
