This street corner is located at the intersection of Ottikerstrasse and Weinbergstrasse in district 6. Various tram lines pass through this street corner and connect Schaffhauserplatz with Zürich Central. The ETH Shuttle from ETH Hönngerberg to the ETH Zentrum also crosses this street.
On the ground floor there are various trust offices and an antique furniture store that has focused on luggage. These are opened through floor-to-ceiling windows with plinths to the street.
Since this area is a residential area, I assume that the upper floors of this house are used for living. The entrance to the house is on Weinbergstrasse.
There are three illuminated facades, all of which are constructed identically. Each window on a floor has a different size. However, they have something in common: the frame of the window. It is made of sandstone and is grooved. The grooved surface can also be seen on the supports on the ground floor. The facade is plastered and has a color similar to that of the sandstone.
The simplicity of this house stands out clearly, but when you look closely you can see very fine details, which can be seen throughout the house. The combination of different materials and the contrast of the surfaces creates a coherent object.
