Hochfarbstrasse / Stampfenbachstrasse

Project by Tabea Meienhofer

Hochfarbstrasse 27 is a street corner between Stampfenbachstrasse and Weinbergstrasse. Stampfenbachstrasse is down a path with stairs from the Hochfarbstrasse. This gives me reason to believe that Hochfarbstrasse is used as a short cut between the two streets. Furthermore, there are many shops, cafes as well as tram stops on these neighboring roads.

Hochfarbstrasse may be used as a short cut but, it has a building standing on the corner of the street with stairs which caught my eye. It functions as an office block, but its entrance is too the rear. As there is no evidence of employees entering or leaving the building. It is evident that the only people walking down the street are interested in the bicycle shop or just to park their motorbike at the façade of the building.

The building has big windows at the front, this allows a lot of light to enter the building during the daytime and provide a warm natural glow to the inside. Also, the Hochfarbstrasse is on the second floor, this is because the rear of the building is lower. Because of this you have to walk around and down stairs to get a view of all the floors in the building.
