This streetcorner is situated not far from the Limmat in the district of Wipkingen. Formerly coined by the cotton industry, it is now mainly a residential area.
The house itself is situated within a traditional block perimeter development in light slope position and it encloses a rectangular courtyard. This apartment building was built around 1910 with the ground floor being used as a restaurant back then.
As all the buildings around it are from the same time period, also this house has a face brick façade that is apricot coloured and is richly decorated with cornices, pediments and details made of natural stone. All the decorations are of a light grey colour and the design vocabulary is the one of neo renaissance, neo baroque and Jugendstil. Each floor shows a different kind of decoration that has been used for the windows and the cornices.
In comparison to the other buildings that are situated at the crossroads, this one has a unique bay window placed at the corner.
