Tramstrasse 30

Project by Nicolaas Kleiber

This balcony is located in Oerlikon in the north of Zürich. The building has six floors and is covered by a hipped roof. The houses of the numbers 30-34 are part of the building and have their own house entrances. All buildings have a similar appearance and differ in their size and color. Even so, all balconies are the same.

The ground floor is slightly raised and does not have a balcony. The four balconies of No. 30 are oriented towards the street. The parapets are made of the same material as the facade. The cantilevered panels can be seen from the sidewalk. The balconies have a cubic shape and are additionally raised by a metal construction. This is attached to the parapet in five places.

The balconies serve as additional outside space for the apartments, which are oriented towards the main street. However, the areas are small and hardly offer any space for additional furniture.

A construction is also attached to the facade, to which the street light- ing and the electric cables of the tramway are attached. The cables extend to the facade of the opposite building.
