The building is located in Affoltern and is part of Siedlung Frieden by pool Architects. It consists of three similar buildings, all of them finished in 2013.
This system of balconies defines all four corners. By being shifted half of the length on alternate sides, the following balcony will cover half of the balcony bellow. This allows the usage of said balcony on rainy days without blocking all the light on sunny days. The sidewalls are at full height of the corresponding floor, which provides privacy. Additionally, the design railings allow the user to keep flowers or herbs.
The facade of the building is plastered white except for the ground floor, which consists of white masonry on the north and south facade and black masonry on the others.
This apartment complex provides a lot of green space and is designed for elderly people. With a few restaurants, a church, a park, and a forest in close proximity, it is at an ideal position. A day care center also incorporates the complex into the neighborhood.
The building is easily accessible from the street or the nearby parking lots by a beautifully made path, which also connects this building to the rest of the complex.
The white colour, the many windows and the open design gives the complex a very bright and open atmosphere, while also providing a lot of privacy on the balconies.
