Bellerivestrasse 21

Project by Ben Frei

The building is located in Seefeld at the corner of Bellerivestrass and Kalustrasse.
The building is built in an L-shape as a corner building.

All existing balconies face the main road (Bellerivestrasse), and thus also the lake. The use of the balconies is private.

The balconies shown in the drawing are the largest balconies of the building and are located at the corner.

The balconies are divided into two parts: a sun-room, which is made of steel and glass and has a parquet floor, and the balcony, which is rounded and has a concrete floor. The separation of the balcony into an indoor and outdoor area allows for year-round use.

From the street the sun room comes to the fore. The sun room is particularly prominent from the street, as it protrudes from the building volume with the balcony, but is a closed (glazed) volume. In winter, it is clear to see how the use of the balcony decreases and the sunroom is enlivened. In summer, on the other hand, the sunroom is more of a passageway or a closed extension of the balcony.
