The building was built in 1895 and is located on the Hönggerberg. The balcony is attached to an old barn. Next to the barn is another building. It is a residential building where the farmer family probably lived. The barn is a wooden structure, which is covered with concrete and bricks at the base. Since it does not have a balcony on old photos, it can be assumed that it was added to the building later.
On the balcony there is a staircase that leads directly into the garden. This is made of metal and therefore stands out. The balcony itself was built from a metal framework. The front was made of wooden panels. The balcony was attached to the roof of the barn with long wooden beams. It connects to the façade of the building, where it was attached to the wall. Four flowerpots were attached to the railing of the balcony from which flower bushes grow.
From the street it is not possible to see onto the balcony as it is surrounded by wooden panels. This gives the balcony a certain privacy therefore it is not possible to see what the owners use the balcony for. However, since it is a large balcony, it can be used for many different things. The balcony also covers part of the windows on the façade, so that it is not possible for a pedestrian to investigate the inside of building.
